Hollie Heller is a mixed media artist who creates and teaches in New York City and Costa Rica studios, universities, and workshops. Heller has a degree in Textile Design which she combines with traditional fine art painting, drawing, and photography techniques in creating multidimensional collage and installation work.
As unique as Heller's finished contemporary works, her creative process is equally intriguing making art fluid and both arbitrary and relational. Each project begins with curious investigation, compilation, and collection of diverse, yet common materials with Heller’s fascination with textiles, primitive art, and ethnic designs.
Her dynamic compositions are built with raw materials, each piece and layer at a time. Heller describes her work as “Experimental, using processes and objects designed or discovered in my studio or nature. Bringing together collage techniques, found papers, recycled materials, and fabrics that communicate interest, depth, and collaboration".
Heller’s collage installations may be viewed in U.S. hotels Hilton, Hyatt, Omni, and Westin. Her sculpture wall work has been commissioned and collected by HBO, New York, NY, Arthur F. Blank Family Foundation, Atlanta, GA, and Johnson & Johnson New Brunswick, NJ. Museum and gallery exhibitions include New York, Los Angeles, and Costa Rica.
