P. Christian Bailey is a Founding Principal and Director of architecture and design firm, ODA in New York established in 2007. With a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, Bailey began his career as a carpenter in Atlanta working for design build firms on innovative housing and furniture projects.
Small paintings marked the start of his personal work which seamlessly grew in size with large canvasses and multiple collections. As an architect with a foundation in construction and art, Bailey looks for clarity and simplicity in design. "My inspiration is generated from the site and local influences that shape the project's narrative and impact on people within and built environment.”
Bailey captures city structures and iconic sites with varied painting styles and techniques; bold color and rich texture abstracts, circular lines and 3D shapes, and photo cut and collaged designs.
Bailey's commissions include "Abstract Isolations” and “Unbridled” series work included in New York and Washington D.C. residential private collections. Gallery exhibitions and shows continue throughout the Tristate as well as virtual everywhere.
